A light hinoki note can make a room feel clean without adding a fragrance on top. That is a specific behavior, not a poetic claim. It is what the water in your bottle is built to do.

What Hinoki Water Is
Hinoki water is the water phase of steam distillation. When fallen leaves and pruned branches of Jeju Hinoki Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa) are passed through steam, two things come out: the concentrated aromatic phase, which is essential oil, and the water phase that accompanies it. That water phase is what we bottle.
It carries the cypress's phytoncides — the aromatic compounds trees release to protect themselves from bacteria and fungi — but at a concentration designed for daily contact with fabric and skin, not for aromatherapy use. The scent is transient by design. It does not layer.
From Pruning to Water Phase
The foliage arrives from routine pruning on Jeju. No tree is cut to fill a bottle; broken branches, fallen leaves, and trimmings accumulate naturally in a managed grove, and we receive them before they are discarded or burned.
Steam distillation carries the active compounds into the water phase without any synthetic fragrance added. Because inputs are natural and pruning rhythms follow the season, the finished water shows subtle variation between batches — slightly brighter in some harvests, slightly softer in others, in ways similar to a natural wine. Each bottle is a record of a specific stretch of the season.

What the Water Does on Fabric
The formulation is engineered for low-residue behavior. On cotton, linen, and most blends, two light passes at arm's length neutralize odor at the source and leave the weave intact. Textures stay true. The layers you wear remain comfortable.
The scent arrives, does its work, and steps back. Within minutes, the background returns to neutral — which is precisely what makes it usable in shared rooms. It does not compete with what others are already wearing.
Label, Disclosed
Clean Made, for us, begins with plain-language labeling. Every bottle carries the full INCI — no "fragrance" as a placeholder, no proprietary blends. The active is listed by genus and species.
The formula is dermatologically tested. An independent human patch test on thirty-two volunteers recorded an irritation index of 0.00, supporting a skin-compatible contact profile for daily use. We are PETA Certified Vegan and cruelty-free.
A batch code appears on every bottle, traceable to the distillation date and the lab certificates on file. If you want to see the paper for the bottle on your shelf, we can tell you when and where its water was formed.

Where It Fits in a Day
Before making the bed. After coats come off in the entryway. Before guests arrive. A single pass over a cushion before sitting down.
The water is designed to be repeatable — not overwhelming. Two light mists, a minute of cracked window if it is a bedroom, and the space resets. It is closer to an etiquette than a routine.
What Makes It Continue
Each refill cycle reduces plastic use by 73.8% against a new bottle. The bottle is the constant; the water is what changes. Our Long Life Service covers the trigger for five years — protect the mechanism and the bottle remains in service for a long arc of harvests.
We don't make products. We receive them. The water in your bottle began as forest the trees did not need to keep.
